I have seen many acl repairs and most docs require the brace to be locked into extension for at least 3 wks. I recently saw a pt where their doc had wanted the brace to be unlocked within a few days of the surgery. Has anyone else had experience with this? It was a quad tendon graft

I've never seen a post ACL locked in any type of brace in the last 20 years. Unless there was some unusual complication, I'm not sure why they would ever do that if the repair was competent. Open it up and gradually gain quad control functionally. Go to a current concepts of ACL rehab class and you will answer your own question.
