It's true that females can put on some muscle bulk, but they cannot put on the amount of upper body muscle bulk and that their male counterparts can put on. Females usually have lean muscles, especially in the upper body. Decreased levels of Testosterone and Human Growth Hormone compared to males account for why females cannot bulk up as much.
