Hi. What type of facility do u own? And what credentials are u interested in? HMO, Medicare/Medicaid? It takes long time to be enrolled into any of this, but to start that u have to have a physical location operating. I have a clinic in Brooklyn, so if u have questions, i will be glad to help u out as much as i can)
I used CAQH in NJ to get enrolled in a lot of commercial carriers. Medicare was done separately.
I would recommend serious negotiating for contracted rates or you will be severely undervaluing your expertise. In fact, going out of network could be a much better play depending on your demographics.
I treat patients out of network now.........and I am averaging three times what I was getting in network. I refuse to let insurance companies turn me into a "mill."
The NY state work Comp board is very difficult to deal with. If I were you, I'd try to credential with them directly. Just make sure that you prepare for long phone calls and hold times.
