Hi everyone,

It's been good to see so many topics being shared, and to see people helping each other out.

I wanted to share a recent infographic I made on a biopsychosocial approach to chronic low back pain (CLBP).
I've been fortunate to work closely with the research team at Curtin University as they are doing great work into a functional based approach to CLBP.

It would be great to hear of anyone else's experience with complex low back cases, and to hear your thoughts about this biopsychosocial approach.

The biggest thing I have found in clinical practice, is that every individual is different, in that there are always differing contributing factors to their persistent pain. The challenge is to listen to their story, and figure out together what may be contributing to their pain, and to figure out if physiotherapy/physical therapy can help in any way.

The infographic can be found here Chronic Low Back Pain Infographic.

You're welcome to share it around.
Please either share the article link, or you can use the embed code at the bottom of the blog post to put into your own blog.

Unfortunately it's just a digital poster, and I haven't figured out how to get it printed. It's mainly because the dimensions of the graphic are too long.

Look great! Nice creativity. You can also include Xray film viewbox picture to your infograph.

Hi Luke,

Many thanks for sharing! That's definitely a great resource and helps to simplify the biopsychosocial model approach to management of CLBP especially when educating patients.

Its been about 2 years since this post, but am interested to see how your approach to CLBP patients are now as compared to then?
Do you have any good clinical examples using the biopsych/educational approach and also feedback from patients? how do they respond when you present to them this 'treatment' method without any hands on?

Thanks mate!
