Hello, I'm pretty desperate so I thought I'd post here for ANY advice. my situation is complicated and i have trouble typing so apologies in advance.
I am hypermobile with winged shoulderblades, elevated ribcage, and a straight neck. my dx is TOS.
i had a few tos type episodes with swelling in my arms starting jan. 2010, then one day in march i was playing a wii, using my laptop improperly and the next day i experienced shooting pains up and down both arms, i couldn't bend or straighten them for several days. then i couldn't feel my fingers. i did not go to the doctor because i did not have health ins.
one day in august 2010 by some miracle, i regained sensation in my hands. my father told me if i didn't gain muscle the sx would come back so i started lifting weights improperly for my shoulders and ever since then my hands are numb 24/7 AGAIN
ffw to oct. i was given some advice by a chiro to stretch and lift weights some more, well, i overstretched i believe my brachial plexus? my entire neck and shoulders went on fire for a few days.
now i have health ins. emg/ncv fine, neck mri is fine,
so far taping my shoulderblades REALLY really helps with my elevated ribcage. however my hands are still completely numb all of the time and my arms feel as tho they weight 500 lbs a piece.
i don't have many neck spasms but when i do theyre so awful I feel like i'm going to vomit--a newish sx, this has only happened since feb. of this year... my neck is just very tight from holding up my body.
the problem i have with pts is they all want to put me on resistance bands. when i use these the next day upper body around my ribs/arm pit area especially, burns,. its always burning mildly but even more so.. every once and awhile i get itchy sensations all over my shoulders and around my collar bone if i move around improperly.
so here are my questions-- i know i NEED to do some kind of strengthening, but should i wait until i get sensation back in my hands? are there strengthening exercises that will not irritate my nerves anymore? or is that part of the normal process? am i correct in avoiding resistance bands?

my shoulders both snap my ribs collarbone??? make loud noises too.
