Hello to eveyone, I have RSD and I was wondering what are the chances that this will heal? I broke my wrist in a car accident in may of "08". It's been 5 and a half months. I have been reading about this and I find all kinds of info. I so confused. I just had a ganglion block. I feel that thi made my pain better at first but now its, I think, worse. I don't know. I also broke my toe a few weeks ago, does anyone know if i could get it in my toe as well? Thank you HE
I have seen 2 Orthopedists, a neurologist, a pain management dr., and I go too therapy 3 x a week. Everyone I ask says that everyone is different and they can't really say. I'm in a lot of pain. I take 800 mg of gabapentin 3 x a day and vicodin as needed 4 x daily.

RSD (or CRPS) is a problem - foremost - with you nervous system and not your extremity. It's just your extremity taking the brunt of it. So, no idea if you'll have effects of CRPS in your toe.
It seems you have a fairly comprehensive medical team working with you. You should speak w/ them regarding you concerns and questions. The have evaluated you and know you. If you don't feel you can ask them, find other doctors to treat you. You need and deserve medical professionals that give you the time and energy to help you through this time. Good luck.
My therapist does alot of messaging, streching, and eltric stimulation as well as weight bearing. WE were doing contrast baths, but I told her that I had read on the rsdhope.com website that contrast baths may help RSD progress so after a session of talking about it we deciede that we were gonna put it off for now. I trust my therapist and my doctors and ask them many questions, but alot of the answers I get are that there is no real strong evedince that one thing works over another, and that RSD isnot the same in anyone. I want more solid answers. HE
I think you should look up the graded motor imagery programme. This programme involves left and right hand recognition activities, imagery tasks, and use of a mirror box. You may also find more information if you google Lorimer Moseley. All the best Ann
