"Give Back to Your Profession: CARF Seeks On-Site Surveyors The Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) recently was selected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to accredit facilities that supply durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) to Medicare patients. As CMS moves the DMEPOS program toward a competitive acquisition system, new quality standards will be applied to all suppliers, including physical therapists, through an accreditation process. CARF is actively recruiting physical therapists interested in becoming surveyors.
CARF is looking for physical therapists who will conduct surveys of physical therapy facilities. After attending a 2-day training program held by CARF, surveyors will conduct unscheduled on-site surveys to determine conformance with established standards. CARF has just announced the first DMEPOS surveyor training session, taking place April 16-17, at its headquarters in Washington, DC. For more information about this opportunity, including job description, responsibilities, and compensation, click here, or contact Darren Lehrfeld at DLehrfeld@carf.org."
