I know the majority of people here are American PT's but I have a question about the University of Alberta. I was told a few days ago that i was placed on the waitlist of people who might be accepted to the MSc.PT program for sept. I was wondering how waitlists work? If people who got in don't accept their offer do they ask people off the list? Typilcayy, do many people get in off of wait lists? Thank you!!

Hey Jess,

I was told a similar thing prior to ending the PT program here in California.  Find out where you are on the wait list.  If you are in the top 5 or so, you should be in with no problems.  Often times students apply at multiple schools, so they may not accept the offer if it does come.  I would advise if you are anywhere near the school make your face known to them on more than one occasion.  It helps if you are persistent and they know how much you want it and are serious about it.  I was way down on the wait list, but I was constantly in their face so everyone in the department knew who I was.
