Hi, I've had tingling sensations in the medial edge of my right scapula when I use my right arm, mostly when typing or lifting. Massages reveal a knot there but I'm not convinced that is the cause. With regular usage, the pain radiated down into my hand. As a result, I had nerve testing done and all returned negative. They tested to the humerus bone and no higher. They checked the radial, ulna, and medial nerve for entrapment and found none. However, now the tingling is only in the scapula. I have right shoulder instablility for many years and about 8 years ago had a C5C6 fusion with no complications. I am wondering if the scapula pain is related to nerve entrapment in my neck from some change in the biomechanics of my vertebrae due to the fusion. Any suggestions??

I would look at the dorsal scapular nerve. Not usually one to present with sensory deviations but definitely follows the symptoms. I believe its roots are C5-6 but don't hold me to it.

With the complexity of your given symptoms your smart approach would to be assessed for scapulothoracic stability by a qualified individual who can also look at the additional issues you raise.
