Can you give me approximate time frame from fusion to return to running??? I extruded t12-L1 disc back in 2001...was successfully rehab-ed (non surgically) and about 6 monthes later was back to running, but never got back to my original weekly mileage. Over the past years my distance slowly reduced because of increased back pain. All my running is on trails, no concrete or asphalt. Just recently I reinjured my back again, exact symptons as in 2001 but now on the left. I Will be seeing ortho MD soon. I am assuming that I re herniated again. I am quite active for a 37 yr old, have good stabilization ability and am aware of body mechanics constantly. I have never treated a runner who was fused...any advice is appreciated.
