Hi, I just had a question about a quadriceps tear. I originally strained both my quads from overuse, from what I've read about tears I think this was at a level one. About a week later I slipped down some stairs and tore my left quad, it was very painful and I think it was a level 2 tear. Its been about 3 weeks and I've been taking anti-inflammatory medicine and it feels much, much better. However, I'm kind of scared to start working out again as I don't want to re-injure my leg and have it go to a level 3 tear. I'm thinking of going swimming. Does anyone have any ideas on how to not re-injure the muscle but also to rebuild it. Should I avoid weights, running, soccer? Thanks!!!

You should seek a medical professional or a PT, if you have direct access, to answer your question. Without being seen, I don't think anyone can safely give you advice just by the information you have provided without an evaluation.
