Pamela_dsuza -> Granny with dementia... (July 21, 2017 12:26:05 AM)

Dementia has several stages and sometimes things get worse if any of your family members are suffering from dementia. It can change the entire routine of your family. But even if you have a dementia patient living with your family, things can be quite peaceful and stable. The only condition is that you should have a clear idea and understanding about the disease.
There can be many levels of discomfort for the patient. Agitation can be one of the main reasons for the discomfort and it can even turn into violent behavior. The common causes of agitation episodes are:
- sleep disorders
- hunger or thirst
- loneliness
- irritating medical procedures etc...
Medication and treatment are very important for people living with dementia, but home care and support are also required. If the condition is very worse, then you could hire any of the senior care services available.
I am here for my granny who is suffering from the early stages of dementia. She acts quite normal, but sometimes her behavior turns aggressive. If she finds something misplaced she shouts for no reason. Once it is placed properly, then she turns back to normal. Even though she is under treatment we are worried about her. Should I hire any senior care service? Please share your views. Need your prayers.

It sounds like you need some help in caring for her. I would start out by hiring an Aide for a few hours a day and see how it goes. You can also look into an Adult Daycare center, where you can drop her off for daily activities.
