heather467 -> Swimming after an armlift (September 22, 2016 5:18:05 AM)

Hi all, I am a swimmer (not by profession). I have undergone an arm lift procedure in the last week and the doctor told to avoid strenuous physical exercise for the next 6 weeks. So how long should I wait to swim? I heard that it's risky to swim soon after a surgery. I recently read a blog about this - http://www.lakeviewsurgery.com/blog/arm-lift-procedure/when-can-i-go-swimming-after-my-arm-lift-procedure/ . So how long should I wait? Can anyone suggest?

It is better to discuss with your surgeon.

It is always better to take rest after a surgery. I hope you might have become alright by now.

I wouldn't try any pool activities for 6-8 weeks after this procedure. You should go to PT and let them rehab you back into the pool.
