lpta08 -> legal responsibility to keep working without pay (January 13, 2015 11:25:16 AM)

I work for a small privately owned home health company. There have been consistent pay issues over the past year. It is no secret the company is struggling. I was approached on pay day last week and asked if I would delay my pay until today so that other employees could cash their checks without them bouncing. I agreed as I felt pressured to. Today I was informed I might be paid this Thursday. I have bills that need to be paid and it is very unfair for me to be chosen to not be paid and everyone else be paid. My question is what is my legal responsibility to continue seeing patients when I have not veen paid? I drive over an hour each way just to get to my starting point. Not to mention my patients are very far spread out and I'm getting one that is an hour and a half drive to get to. Gas mileage alone is killing me.
