Does anyone have a suggestion for a good infant or early intervention course? A general course with review of development, atypical development, etc? Thanks!

I don't know of any good entry-type or overview peds courses. Try going to the website www.pediatricphysicaltherapy.com some of the therapists there might have some suggestions.

I used to have an overview course online at CEUWorld.com but there didn't seem to be much of a market for it. I'll see if I can't dig it up and send it to you if you're interested.
Also, I get down to Montgomery every now and then to visit inlaws, and to check in with the folks at ASU. Next time I get down there, Erin and I will try to give you a call.

Thanks tc and Drew. Look forward to hearing from you Drew.
I was asking for the course for my wife, who has been doing peds partime for several years now. She does a great job, and has done some good general courses. I guess what I was looking for is a little more indepth course, but general in the sense of not focusing on only une technique, etc.
Has anyone been to the 3 or 5 day baby course put on by Boehme workshops?
Thanks again!

I haven't taken the Boehme ones but have heard great things about them. (They are always held just too far away from me). I wasn't too pleased with one I took from Hampton Cares - it was called something like " pediatric early intervention" by janessa rick.
Good names to look for are Lauren Beeler (does mostly NDT courses), Mary Halloway (sp?), and Nancy Dilger. I've taken courses with those therapists and they've been great. There's also a clinic called City Kids on the east coast that seems to have a lot of good courses offered, but no personal experience. Eritherapy seminars also has a lot of good sounding courses.
Other than that, you can look through Advance for PT. They seem to have a lot of peds overview courses listed, but I don't know what the quality is like.
Hope that's helpful somewhat.

Lois Bly puts on a great 5 day course. In my opinion, it's a "must do" for any peds PT, and certainly the core foundation of everything I did as a peds PT. I even found myself using pieces of her course 10 years later when teaching courses on the value of the LiteGait PWBTT system.

Yup, I wholeheartedly second Lois Bly. She's the one I couldn't come up with earlier, I knew there was a big one missing! And I was just re-reading one of her books the other day - I think my mind is slipping. She also has some great books on NDT, both adult and child. Another idea for a good review on normal development is a great book that is pretty inexpensive- Normal Devlpment of Functional Motor Skills 3 authors: Alexander, Boehme, Cupps. It is a great book and was very helpful when I first started doing early intervention.
