2 months before i saw a pt with pain in her
lt ankle . she gave a history of slip while
hopped to cross a pool of water .
pain& swelling around the lt
ankle with tenderness at the inferior of
the maleolus .movement causes pain
at 1st we diagnosied it as
anterior talo fibular ligament sprain &we gaveultra sound & straping for a week
she reported a reduction of pain
up to 50% but the remaining pain & movemant restriction is there for more than 3 weaks
then i consulted a sports
physician .he gave us the idea of it may be a
sinus torsi injury of the lt ankle, whith will take a long time to heal due to the
lower blood supply
this is the 1st time i come across a torsi injury

can any one provide me a better
treatment for this injury.

Hello,
I personally have never come across this type of diagnosis of sinus tarsi. Fortunately, there appears to be two good articles, which is listed below, which may contain the information you are looking for. Hopefully you can take a look at them. Good Luck.

2. MEDLINE Duddy RK. Duggan RJ. Visser HJ. Brooks JS. Klamet TG. Diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries to the lower leg and foot. [Review] [24 refs] [Journal Article. Review. Review, Tutorial] Clinics in Sports Medicine. 8(4):861-76, 1989 Oct. Title available at NYCOM. Check catalog for holdings.
