Kevin,

Come on, You gotta know that supporting your state and national governing bodies is an essential part and our only means of any collective bargaining/lobying efforts that are possible.  The only reason we have to discuss any of these issues is because the chiro lobby is so incredibly commited to restraint of choice for americans.  We far outnumber them nationally, yet we don't have enough lobbying power to impose our will, on behalf of patients.  That in the end is what's so sad.

laptma,

I completely agree with you.  Nobody should be able to practice under the guise of PT who doesn't hold a license.  That of course is PT on PT abuse of profession, and we need to be able to police ourselves as well.

bonez,

I'm not sure why they would manip. the T-spine for ankle pain, but I wouldn't have any problem with it.  Perhaps they were trying to affect the SNS through the t-spine for early signs of CRPS in that lower extremity.

Keep up the good work all.

Tim

Have you thought of reporting this chiropractor to his/her state board?  Not sure if they will do anything, but it is worth a shot.  Or you could just send a letter to the chiropractor making him/her aware that what is happening is against the law.  Sometimes just the fact that of being made aware that he/she is being watched is enough.

As a chiro in California we are definitely told in school that you can't advertise that you perform PT.  What this chiro is doing is unethical and I am sure the chiro knows what he/she is doing.  I am surprised that some other chiro hasn't reported him/her yet.  We are known for going after each other

Ok so if PTs do not want to gather public support and are comfortable with their jobs than I would strongly suggest of having eash PT payup $1000 every time they renew their license to get a bigger war chest to pay for the best lobbying power. We need some kind of fire lit up to get the PT world waking up to reality!
