Kaden -> what do you use for an interval throwing program (May 20, 2008 3:40:34 PM)
For those of you who work with throwers, what protocol/program do you use for an interval/return to throwing program.
I have seen a few on the net building up to 180 feet, 50 throws but am confused about how to progress speed and effort of throws over the progression.
Thanks for any help.

Kaden, what sport/position? I have two baseball specific programs, one that definately could be modified to fit anything that I can scan and email.

kaden,
I am sure you will find many different interval throwing progressions. Most of them are similar. I recommend the early portion of the program be concerned with proper mechanics and only throw hard enough to achieve the distance in the program (with a 'good' throw). Later, work shorter distances and stress throwing at 50% effort with progression of distance, then 75%, then 100%.

Thanks for the replies. Chrisatc, I was referring to an outfielder. Buckeye, that does make sense to only have them throw as needed to complete the distance while they build up endurance and then work on speed and effort.
