Alex-
My vote is with Bill, who recommends the BTB. I think it's really still the gold standard for return to sports, especially for us big guys.
If I had torn mine, I might elect for the hamstring graft b/c I don't do a lot of running/cutting for my sports, but were I in your shoes I would choose BTB.
Unless you have a hx of chronic PFPS or patellar tendonopathy, in which case the hamstring might be the preferred option.

I assume they will be doing your surgery at Landschtul (sp?) in Germany at the Medical Center there?
Unless you can catch a ride to Tripler to do your rehab on the beach and hang out with Zack...
:)

Keep us posted, man.

I am working a deal to go to West Point to have it repaired and I think I am going to go with a BTB.

Did I mention that this is really sucky?

Alex,
Sorry to hear about that. I have a patient who also tore his ACL; he was playing soccer, will not have surgery and wishes to return to all sorts of things. Tough, to say the least.
West Point is nice in the fall, if that is when you will have the surgery. Right now, New York is wicked hot and humid. Good luck!

BTP sounds like a good idea. When, if you already decided, will you have the surgery? Hope all goes well.
