does anyone know any good study that shows that the Airex actually helps for proprioception?

I don't.  But you'd think it wouldn't (well wouldn't for increased balance in regards to improved proprioception).  You are limiting proprioceptive feedback by standing on "foam" therefore the pt is relying more on vision and vestibular.  "Foam and Dome" test, right?  If one wanted to improve balance by improving proprioception, I'd think you'd want to selectively reduce reliance on vision and/or vestibular systems (the latter being fairly impossible in an average OP clinic).

That being said, I have people do it all the time for improving balance.  Just don't think I'm improving balance by improving proprioception with it.
