The newspaper (Canton Repository--Canton, Ohio) came out to my work to profile a patient of mine and how we used a new piece of equipment to get her better. Pretty good stuff.

Thanks for the article!  I have been looking at the Biodex balance system, but this looks like more fun.  How is reimbursement working out for you?

Reimbursement is great--we are billing at therapeutic ex or therapeutic activity or NMRE--dependent upong who we are working with. Good thing is this piece of equipment can be utilized for any population--even the healthy population. We are working on a program to allow individuals to come in and use the Trazer for sports performance, too. Just have to decide how to manage it. I did a presentation for the local coaches and it was a hit. Unit is kind of pricey at 6-7k, but well worth it.

How much space do you need for this unit?  Does it test the upper extremities or just the lower ones?

We have a local health facility that is opening on Novemeber 1st.  They have this unit as well as other "interactive" exercise pieces that are located in the kids fitness area.  look up the product on Cybex website and you will get an idea of what can be tested etc.  Looks like fun - I cant wait to take my kids there so that i can use/see it

Right now we are using it for lower extremity only. I have heard of other facilities using it for upper, but not sure how. You could always petition for a Wii for upper extremities, lol. Space requirement is a 10x10 area. There are so many things to do with the unit. I have used it for individuals 8-80 (seriously).

It's pretty fun.
