Tom Reeves DPT ATC -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 26, 2007 9:47:19 AM)

is that a living person or some ancient mummy that was unearthed and found to have been killed by the slaves with a club?

buckeye -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 26, 2007 10:38:17 AM)

I have to wonder about the shiny spots on the forehead and chin - perhaps a diffuser would give us a better picture.

Dr.Wagner -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 26, 2007 1:06:46 PM)

One of my trauma patients, riding in a car...face hit with metal pole that fell off a truck.  This is a great example of what kind of fracture?  (not important that you know this...but is interesting)

bonez -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 26, 2007 11:53:54 PM)

I 'am goint to go with a "tripod" (zygomaticomaxillary) fracture ruling out the le fort series because I can't see and fracture extending to the other side.

Dr.Wagner -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 28, 2007 7:50:12 AM)

Tripod

jma -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 28, 2007 11:03:19 AM)

Nice one. Didn't even come across this type of fracture in our imaging course.

ehanso -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 28, 2007 12:31:25 PM)

What type of imaging technique was used for this film? Thanks

jma -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 28, 2007 12:42:38 PM)

The image looks like a 3D CT scan to me.

fapt -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 29, 2007 9:54:29 PM)

That is a cool image technique. Is that available around the world?
Never seen that in hospital... Thanks..
BTW, I don't know the answer right now... and wait someone could answer that... XD

Dr.Wagner -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 29, 2007 10:05:29 PM)

Sorry...it was a CT of facial bones with 3D reconstruction.

chiroortho -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 30, 2007 11:42:56 AM)

There is no doubt that this is a tripod fracture bordering on the orbital burst fracture.  The soft tissue swelling on the CT would be impressive, and the patient would look like mike tyson dusted him off with a right lead.

Sebastian Asselbergs -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (October 30, 2007 6:52:28 PM)

Greg - you're back!! Good to see ya again.

chiroortho -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (November 3, 2007 4:30:26 PM)

Hey thanks Sebastian.  Hope all's well.  I enjoy popping in from time to time but I respect that this is a PT forum so I've not been participating as much.

Best to all,
greg

trudytheot -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (November 9, 2007 1:57:44 AM)

Greg, I am an OT and don't feel out of place in this forum. It is such an informal and fun way to learn. All I can say about this case is oooww, looks like it would hurt. All the comments are like the break room at the hospital or something. Everyone brings something to the discussion and everyone takes something away in terms of learning. Hi, Dr. Wagner. Thanks again for sharing interesting cases. Has anyone commented that you bear a striking resemblence to Dr. Spock? Trudy the OT

jma -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (November 11, 2007 10:37:38 AM)

Any more clinical scenarios coming anytime soon?

Dr.Wagner -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (November 11, 2007 4:49:53 PM)

Yes...I just got back from Cancun...I also did nights a week ago, I have a case, I just need to organize my thoughts about it.

Shill -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (November 12, 2007 11:50:26 AM)

Unrelated question, but has Cancun rebounded well from the Hurricanes?  Is there any beach left?

Dr.Wagner -> RE: Random trauma photo of the week (November 13, 2007 1:52:47 PM)

There was some considerable erosion...but with a mojito in hand, no one cares.
