I have to take a 20-30 hour course to complete CEU requirement for some of my state licenses before end of the year. I'd prefer it in orthopedic/manual therapy. My problem is that I'm in my third trimester. Can anyone recommend a course in Los Angeles area/ or at least recommend a course? I'd appreciate any first hand experiences. I have started contacting some of the course institutions but it is taking them forever to get back to me. I'd thought posting this question here might give faster insight, and some good recommendations. I've already taken all the home study courses I am allowed to qualify towards my  state CEUs. Thanks

Have you taken any manual courses so far (i.e Institue for Physical Art)? I say this because there have been a few people who were pregnant who attended these courses and made the instructor aware of their pregnancy. Needless to say while they may have been able to perform techniques on their partner, the reverse was limited when the partner had to do the same. Even the instructors made sure that certain things were not performed on them. Their experience was not so great as they were not able to feel or appreciate most of the techniques done.

And I am well aware of that. Therefore, I am asking anyone who has been pregnant or has had a pregnant spouse, who had to take a course in third trimester to please recommend one, with satisfactory outcomes. Yes, I have taken IPA courses therefore I would not take them while being pregnant because they do require positions that I cannot tolerate, plus I cannot fully appreciate the feel of the technique. At this point, can anyone even recommend a good non manual therapy course, keeping in mind that class should be 15-30 hours. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have taken the Strategic Orthopedics Course...very very small amount of hands on..but very worthwhile course. I found it very helpful to learn his systematic evaluation and assessment of symptoms and if and how they are improving. Angelo DiMaggio is former instructor from McKenzie Institute..The course content is based on treatment of spine using  directional preference based exercise program. The lumbar course is four days in length and should satisfy the 30 hours requirement.

 shoulder/knee or extremity courses would be helpful.   Or try a correspondence course thru APTA.  Very flexible and often more  worthwhile.

I would second inotadots post about Strategic Orthopedics.  Not to mention that the outcomes with this are fantastic.
