Just wondering how others get their evidence based research? Something that I've found discouraging since graduating school, which wasn't too long ago, is finding articles utilizing free databases like Pubmed, etc. During school we were to use EBP with everything we did, but being part of a university we had access to MEDLINE, which we all probably got too comfortable with because full text articles are more available. Now, I find it difficult to get access to full text articles and don't want to judge a study's validity based on the abstract.
So I guess what I'm asking is, how do you get your articles if you are not affiliated with an academic instituition?
Also, does anyone know in APTA's history if they every considered subscribing to MEDLINE to make it available to members? I think that would help fill in the gap between clinic and research. Thanks.
