Henryry, thank you for bringing up exactly the point that was bothering me all along in this very abstractly mathmatical thread. In the end we are dealing with a person who is lifting, not a robot... this person will have ebb/flow multi-layered and simultaneous physiology happening. Where is the food at the time of the lift? Which part of the gut? Might alter the force of the levers and or center of gravity somewhat. How hydrated is the person? A flexible tube within a tube within a tube within a tube etc (which is sort of what the body plan is) will be more "stiffenable" or stronger if it is well-hydrated. (Think of a plant that needs water..)

Hey guys,
What is the record for most replies to a topic on here??? You are inching towards 40. Keep up the good work. But please hurry, I might retire before I learn the correct way to lift a box.

hmm,

i was thinking (maybe i shouldnt). do you think most of the strain would be put on the vertebral body, the pedicle, or the disc itself.....which part of the vertebral column is the most in trouble? or is it more of a muscle strain problem???, i think im lost now,

Bobcat,

I believe you just completely lost me with that very long message... and further convince me that the issue is complex in nature.
