barcky42 -> Subclavicular pain (November 14, 2006 4:10:00 AM)

This is an admittedly selfish post - I am looking for some advice on what I believe is swelling and/or strain of the left subclavius.

The injury originated as a moderate case of biceps tendonitis. While recovering from this and treating this injury, I believe I was unknowingly changing my posture or arm/shoulder movement during my weight training, which led to the pain I now feel in my subclavius. Pain almost completely localized to the left collarbone area, with some tightness (but little or no pain) leading up the left side of my neck.

Can anyone suggest a possible means of treating this? I have been trying to ice and stretch the area, but am unsure if this is the correct approach. Any suggestions as far as if/how often to apply heat/cold/STIM, as well as suggested stretches for the neck and subclavius would be very helpful.

Thank you!

Review Jones' Counter Strain tehcnique or find a collegue to treat this. Eliminate the strain minimize the pain.
