Cool, thanks guys...
But bench pressing was not specifically implicated, and other activities were also mentioned.
I'm sure any strength activity may make symptoms in a painful area worse, but I just didn't see a reason to warn patients off a particular exercise unless mechanics or prior injury were going on...

Has anyone considered strengthening the serratus and scapular stabilizers as part of the workout? This seems to be the most basic of concepts to minimize imbalance and improper dynamics of this very complex area. It has helped me with many patients with similar complaints over the years.
