hmgross -> Hooked on Evidence (April 19, 2003 7:53:00 AM)

It seems unfortunate that nobody has posted here since January. Is anyone utilizing the "Hooked on Evidence" section in the APTA website in their clinic? Went to the MNAPTA conference last weekend and one of the courses was entitled "Am I Doing the Right Thing"? The PT was explaining how she posed the clinical question re: land based vs. aquatic exercises for osteoporosis. It was very interesting, but we all got a chuckle when someone wondered how long the patient was in the waiting room while the PT was checking out the evidence on her computer searches. I realize the process would be cumbersome initially, but I think in the long run, it would be nice to access the data base--just wish it were bigger. My goal is to help contribute in the future and I hope other PTs out there will do the same. We need to be able to make clinical decisions based on the best available evidence, but sometimes this is a "shot in the dark" --what do you all think?
