I would take the time to educate the patient on the benefits of PT and our credentials. Sometimes simply informing the patient is enough to assure them that PT is effective. I would also educate the patient briefly on the fact that as PT's we have scientific evidence to support some of the techniques we perform. If the patient requires a spinal manipulation then you can explain to them that we can perform these techniques as well. Not just Chiro's perform manipulations! The good thing is we can manipulate them and they won't require a "maintenance" program!
