i get mine from the kids on the corner, i drive by slow and the show them that my pant leg is higher on one side which means i am buying. They usually give me the good stuff 2.5% plastic bottle the way I like it, just make sure they don't cut it with anything else. Really though, funny that you need a Rx to get vinegar. I had very good anecdotal success, and as far as research goes, read this post from before, and you will see that i wrote that your local empi rep has tons of research on ionto with all different compunds in fact that is their marketing tool to the MD/DOs to write Rx for it.

There is a vast amount of clinical evidence for the use of acetic acid with calcifications. It is unfortunate that clinicians have not been able to compile this evidence supporting the use. There is also some very valid scientific evidence for the use of acetic acid with iontophoresis but most of it is archaic……..This brings up other concerns with iontophoresis cost and reimbursement. Many insurance companies are not reimbursing based on lack of evidence of the efficacy of the modality. Does ionto allow you to treat your patients more aggressively helping to fight the inflammation? Or do you chose to treat with ice and oral meds ? There are many drugs that can be phoressed ionto and phono…..Using an injection of acetic acid makes sense to me. Would there be a concern with tissue damage in the underlying area? We are currently collecting data in 2 studies with iontophoresis. The drug that we are looking at is Ketoprofen. We are also working on parameters for a study involving iontophoresis with gabapentin (NEURONTIN) for neuropathic pain. I am a compounding technician and have been working with ionto and phono for sometime now. We currently have clinicians using a variety of medications depending on the physician’s diagnosis. 8 to 10 treatments is not uncommon when treating a calcification. I encourage therapist and physicians to document the use of medications with ionto so this evidence can be used as ammunition towards the ever changing role of reimbursement. We have web site for our pharmacy that maybe of help some of the info is still pretty raw. WWW.DEXRX.COM
Thanks and I encourage the questions and replies Greg
