Hi everyone

I am interested in doing some studies on animal physiotherapy.

Does anyone here have any knowledge on where one can study this, both in Canada or US?

BTW: One of the most extensive animal clinics I have ever heard of was in Paris, France. Facility with treadmills, hydrotherapy and a variety of modalities. From small poodles to race horses! And that was in 1979....

Do a search with a variation of terms - and see what you get.

if you ask a horse how much its leg hurts, does it tap out a number on the ground with its hoof?

Tom , the horses my wife and daughter ride, indicate their level of discomfort by the strength of their bite....That elicits a certain volume from my ladies' mouths, and that is measured in dBs...Viola - a VAS for horses.  The hind leg comes in handy when the prostate-examiner has cold hands....

not all states allow PTs to work on horses so check your practice acts etc, here in Florida you need to be a vet who learns PT rather than a PT who learns horses for example.

Funny this came up.  Here in Nebraska recently, the Attorney General issued a statement stating it is not legal for any other practitioners to provide professional tx to animals besides vets.  Although it seems it was more DC's "adjusting" animals than PT's rehabing animals (although I'm sure that was occuring too).

Not the end, though.  Vets are working with PT's, DC's, and I think MT's to work out treatment for animals.  Kinda feels like a bidding war for the right to do it.  Oh well.  I was trained to treat humans and not animals anyways.
