murali -> Changing field to PT (July 17, 2002 8:52:00 AM) I did my BS in Engineering and now am considering moving to Therapy. I am new to this field totally. Can some one pl. tell me the job prospects of therapy - whether you can find lot of jobs and how much the compensation looks like? I reside in Florida. If I have to change my field to therapy, what are things I need to do? Do I need to do Master's in Therapy? How is the field? And if you want to start your own therapy center, how does the business prospects look. Can some one please advice. Thankyou in advance. ------------------ Murali

Looking at the APTA site (as mentioned above) is definitely a great first step. I would also recommend talking to local PTs and volunteering in a local clinic. As for salary and other factors, they look pretty good now but there is no telling what will be out there when you graduate - the only reason you should do it is because you like the work. The money, while O.K., will not be astronomical. PTs have similar complaints to engineers....that is.......start high, end low. There are opportunities if you are aggressive and entrprenerial, epecially someone with your background.....but for the most part, don't expect to get really wealthy doing this. Best of luck, mcap
