chaog -> DPT-PhD programs?? (April 27, 2002 5:42:00 PM)

Hello,
Is there such a thing as DPT-PhD program? If so, would anyone refer me to a specific school that offers it? I'm interested in both clinical practice and research and would love to get into such a program that incorporates both. Also, how much actual research could a DPT student engage in typically? Is it mostly at the research assistant level or doing original research under mentorship? From what I've read in program brochures, it seems like the main focus is on clinical training. If there is not such a thing as a DPT-PhD, what advice would you give to someone who is equally interested in gaining clinical and research experiences?
One more question: when people talk about a program being "top rank", what are the criteria it is judged by? What should a student look for among the "top ranks"?
Thank you very much for any input.
Chao.
