Inspired -> To Practicing PT's: Role of the PTA (April 12, 2002 5:45:00 PM)

Hello. I am a PTA student, but I aspire to be a PT in the future. My current family situation prevents me from attending school full time, therefore I've settled for PTA to get as close as I can to the profession I am absolutely infatuated with. I'm wondering what the practicing PT's think of the PTA, are they considered a dumping ground for simple tasks or is there significant appreciation for the lesser field? I'm concerned that when I get into the field I'll be frustrated with my limited responsibilities. Any suggestions on what PT's look for in a PTA? Do's and do not's, etc.?
