Hello,
I have a question regarding the differences between documenting WFL and WNL with respect to range of motion. For example, one does not need 180 degrees of shoulder flexion to reach an object in a cabinet. A range of about 160 degrees is considered to be functional for reaching. If this has always been the case, why am I seeing WFL and WNL being used as if they are synonyms? Has something changed that I am not aware of or is the difference between them not as significant anymore? Studies based on this would be appreciated. Thank you for your rapid response.
