Hello all, is there website, thread, or article that compares the various electrical muscle stimulators? There is a wide range from pocket units to large units.

I am interested in the programmable features which include pain reduction and strengthening. Certainly, the other programs are interesting as well. Thank you in advance.

e-stim on its own theoretically can only strengthen a muscle that is so weak it cannot do a strong isometric contraction. As far as strengthening a functional muscle, that is if you are able to be up and about, none of them will strengthen a muscle. As far as pain reduction, i'd stick with one that has a pre-mod or an interferrential current setting.

FLA, thank you, for the insight. Indeed, I am interested in atrophied muscles. My question has more to do with reliability of the product as I saw a "don't let this happen to you" webpage posted by the FDA on these devices:

look up RS medical, and get in touch with them, they have very good home units.
