According to his bio metapod has a PhD. Makes you wonder what it might be in. I'd appreciate his/her comments on the "Science Meets Alternative Medicine" review I did recently.

Dear Mr. Pod:

Pain is am emotional phenomenon. It is dependant upon psychosocial factors. It is also dependant on a number of hormonal and chemical factors. How exactly do we "fix" this with our hands!!!

Most literature out there now - especially for the low back explicitly tells you not to focus on the pain and that pain releif should not be the goal. The goals of therapeutic intervention should be restoration of function and improvement of biomechanics. In that way, hopefully the pain will subside. But there is no guarantee.

The clinical guidelines from countless countries specifically recommend AGAINST long term administration of passive treatments. There is evidence that in the long term - they can impair progress.

But hey....who wants to deal with research when you can heal!!!!!!!
