HELLO EVERYBODY.

IT'S MY FIRST TIME HERE AND I HAVE A QUESTION. IS THERE ANYTHING NEW ON ELECTROTHERAPY, THE LAST 5 OR 10 YEARS? ANYTHING NEW ABOUT HOW WE SHOULD STIMULATE MUSCLES OR TREAT PAIN (WITH CURRENT), ANY NEW TECHNIQUES OR ANY NEW CRITICS GENERALLY ON ELECTROTHERAPY AND ITS WORTH?
FOR I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT ELCTROTHERAPY HASN'T EVOLVED...YET "SEARCH" HAS GIVEN ONLY ONE,SINGLE,MEANINGLESS RESULT!

IT WOULD BE NICE READING FROM YOU TOMORROW.

Hi Ayaj,

You're right, there is nothing new about electrotherapy since 50 years! And I'm always unable to stimulate correctly a muscle with 2/4 or more wires. A muscle is not an electrical engine by the way.

A neuron is not an electrical device but a complex ionic tube with complex ionic flows.

All I know as a patient with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome is "it feels great" for me and releases all the little tightnesses in my back.
For persons that cannot yet exercise it helps to maintain some muscle tone and reduce pain also.

Not too many but lately I've been hearing about some researches on the inneffectiveness or adverse effect of Functional Electrical Stimulation in the prognosis of CVA patients.
