I work in an 18 bed inpatient rehab hospital. We have 2 full-time PTs and 2 full-time OTs. Each patient should receive up to 3 hours of therapy per day. That amounts to about 6 units/day/pt/discipline. Is it reasonable to expect each therapist to take on a case load of 9 patients? How do any of the rest of you staff for inpatient? I would appreciate any input.
