if PTs were offered medicare part B direct access beginning next year, BUT, as a compromise and condition, the 1500 cap was reinstated and made permanent, but was altered to NOT inlude speech therapy, would you be for it?
wow what a run on sentence
how about......whats better for you:
current scenario---- no direct access, possible cap issues in 2005
or
hypothetical scenarion----- part B direct access with 1500 cap (cap would NOT include speech)

I would have to choose the current scenerio given these 2 options. I haven't had any problems getting MD referrals for this population, and the $1500 cap is too low for this group of patients (even without speech, which really only hurts stroke patients). If we were given direct access and, say, a $2500 cap, I would probably change my answer.
