Hi Marwan, Just came across your post so sorry for the late response. I am interested in the same thing and do not have all the answers on how to get to where you want to go. I've only been out a couple of years. All the companies I have worked for had promised me a lot of sports med with ability to work with local highschool and college teams. Instead I've done mainly general ortho, spine and some neuro with little to no sports med...although i have enjoyed if for the most part and learning alot...its still not my dream job. good luck in your search and hopefully someone with more experience will respond. ~ karin

marwan, none of that is going to get you into professional sports. 1. They are looking for an AT, with possibly PT. 2. They are looking for someone that they know and WANT to hire. They aren't looking for you a PT or me an AT. They are hiring who they want.

I would start by looking into jma's suggestions. You could contact someone at a local college and volunteer some time with thier team...that is find out when their practices run and go and hang out and learn from the athletic trainer and/or PT. Don't listen to the naysayers. If you really want something, work hard, keep your eyes open, jump at the opportunities (even if they are of the "water-boy" type)...just do everything to be in the right place at the right time. It may not come soon, but you'll eventually get there.
