I see a 6 year old boy who has diagnoses of athetoid CP and Down Syndrome. Very low tone, lots of difficulty with head control despite years of INTENSIVE PT. He has little controlled movements. Does anyone know of a reason I should not try a cervical support to lessen his energy expenditure on head control? Any experience with this?

Hi, I do not have any similar experiences as this. I have never even come across a child with CP and Down. That is very interesting. Seems like he has quite a few things working against him :( Poor little guy. That said, I don't see why a cervical support would be negative to at least try. I don't see how it could hurt for a short period of time to see if could help. Good luck.
