I apologize for barging into your forum, but would someone please take a minute to type me an opinion?
I had surgery on my left arm for epicondylitis and I'm still having pain. I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and he wants me to go to therapy again. I haven't gone yet because I'm not sure if I should return to the girl who worked on my left arm or move to someone new. These are my concerns:
is it normal to be doing 3 sets of 15 reps of weights at this point? should I be doing about 8 minutes of repitiouis lifting and moving of 1 lb blocks?
I just don't know if I'm doing stuff to keep me busy and the busy work is not helping (or making things worse) OR if I'm doing things to actually have me progress and my injury is just taking more time to heal. Does that make sense?
Does any of this make sense to you?
Again, I'm very sorry for barging into your forum. Thanks for all your help.

A few questions: how long ago was your surgery? What exactly did the surgery entail? How soon after surgery did you start therapy? How long were you in therapy? What type of pain are you having and where is it located? What exactly were you doing in therapy? We need a little more information to advise you. Sarah

sorry - I'm not sure waht you would need, but I'll start with these:
I had the injury for 2 years and had 3 shots.
My surgery was Dec 28th. My MRI said it was severe tenditits/tear and "some threads were attached." I started therapy about 2 weeks after the surgery and I had it for 5 weeks 3 x a week. The pain is similar to the pain I had before, but not as severe. If I pick up a book or glass of water, I feel it iin the area I had pain before the surgery.
For the first weeks in therapy, i had a lot of massage and stretching. After I had good flexibility, I started on the hand bike and 1lb weights 15 reps 3 sets and then moved to the 3 lb weights 15 reps 3 sets and moving cans around for amost 10 min.
