Hai,
I am preparing for physical therapy license examfor florida state. But one of my friend who is also physical therapist preparing for license exam told me that there is no future for Physical Therapist.
It seems one of the physical Therapist told my friend to go to other field, ratherthan staying in Physical Therapy.
I would like to know about Physical Therapy future for florida state.

Hello,
You can go to your state's physical therapy association at http://www.fpta.org/ and go to their bulletin board and ask around from people who post there to find out their opinion on this.

You can also also ask the following contact (taken from the FPTA website)

Tracy Harris, ext. 27
General Information, Address Changes, Meetings Support, Member Database, Continuing Education
Membership Services Coordinator
tharris@fpta.org

Hope this can help

Unfortunately you have been mislead. The field of PT is posistioned very well in the health care arena. The aging baby boomers, increased life spans, shorter hospital length of stay, just to mention a few, all bid well for our profession. Who better trained and capable can assist those looking to become more physically fit, decrease time off from work following an injury, instruct in proper body mechanics and injury prevention than a PT. I suspect Florida has many unmet PT needs. I have four openings right now in my service offerings and am limited in expanding only by finding qualified candidates.
Good Luck

Hello,
I believe that you can go to any hospital in your area that has a PT/Rehab department and volunteer there. Just ask for the volunteer department and tell them your interest and they should be able to help you out. I am sorry that I am not residing in Florida, so I do not know of any hospitals in your area. Your local yellow pages should have all the listing and who to contact. Hope this helps. Good luck

Don't get discouraged.

" Orthopaedic Surgeon should never pick up a knife unless he has a competent Physiotherapist"

This is from one of the reputed orthopaedic surgeons from India Prof Chandra.

So many other related professionals now prefer competent Physical Thearpist before and after their job.
