I was wondering if anyone had any new ideas on strengthening of the LB. I am treating a 30 y/o male who is a handyman and just has the deconditioning after an injury. The doc wanted strengthening but he is very active and easily gets bored with acvitives unless they are really challenging. I have been so far doing prone activities but he is getting a pinching type sensation with them at EROM. I have thought about some lifting from floor with medicine ball using ab bracing - any other ideas of higher level things

Check out the book "Segmental Stabilization" by Carolyn Richardson et. al. It is full of interesting information for progression with lumbar stabilization. If your patient feels like subtle stuff is a waste of time though, he might have trouble with some of these exercises...
