I know the finger to nose test and heel to shin tests or other rapid alternating movements are tests of the cerebellum. But what does a positive in these really indicate.

If one see one or two of these positive in an outpatient clinic what should one do?

Are positives of these tests alone to be concerned with or do they need to be combined with other larger signs of cerebellum disorders.

A positive test would direct you to examine the patient more deeply with regards to neurological testing as well as medical history and medication regimen. I believe that a positive finding of these tests are worth calling the referring physician about.
