Hi

I am new to the group. I am a bit confused about the following. 1. orthosis
2. prosthesis
3. brace
4. immobilizer
5. splint


Can any one clear my doubts.

I'm not sure what you're asking.
Do you want definitions, where to buy them, when to use them, what kinds there are, etc?

Could you clarify a bit? We could better answer your question that way.

Well a brace can be considered a orthosis, splint or immobilizer.

An orthosis can immobilize or splint, it can also be considered a brace.

A prothesis is a replaement of a body part.

An immobilizer is a brace or a splint.

A splint is a brace or immobilizer.

Does that help?

My recommendation is to stick each word into a google search engine to get some definitions first, then develop a question that can be decifered better.
