i have a 40-something patient who sustained an injury to his long thoracic nerve from a fall (FOOSH injury) in March. he has significant scapular winging during shoulder flexion limiting him to 60* of active flexion 2* pain. if i use my hand to maintain the medial border flush against his ribs he can achieve 120* of flexion before any pain. he works on heavy machines and has been unable to work due to his injury. i was considering getting a brace for him for better tolerance to ADL's to help keep proper alignment of his scapula against his rib cage while the nerve is healing and was looking for any suggestions? i have heard about the S3 brace from Alignmed and was considering using it. has anyone used this brace before? any suggestions of other braces that may work for him? thanks in advance.
