2 quick questions:
I had a simple radial fracture from soccer 8 weeks ago and had a cast on for 6 weeks. I started physical therapy last week but the back of the hand and the wrist are still a lot swollen. Can there be another problem?

Other question: can I play soccer without too much risk if the wrist is well strapped with bandage or a splint?

Vince, Swelling and joint stiffness is very common after the cast comes off and can last for several weeks. This usually resolves with rehab and time.
As for playing soccer, ultimately it is your choice. Clinically I would like to know the healing status of the fracture with radiographs before advising your return to play. In civilian PT practice, you would want to leave this decision probably to the ortho physician who is managing you.
An athlete myself I am pretty aggressive in allowing return to play if bandaged and or splinted properly.
