Can anybody give me a very good reference with regards to wound care for licensure examination.. I took my exam twice and it seems I have a hard time with wound management.. please help

Hello,
The O'Sullivan review book for PT licensure has the best wound care information than any other review book that I used when I studied for the PT exam.
If you used it and it was not to your satisfaction, then let me know. I believe there is a book (which costs a lot) that is dedicated soley to wound care for PT's

thank you for the suggestion.. this is my third time taking the examination anything that u would suggest with regards to studying? I am so confused. I am reading the O'Sullivan reviewer this is the third time I have read it. Can u give me pointers on how did u go about ur review maybe it might work for me ..

Hello
Hmmm, first of all, if you took the exam three times, it would have been worth asking for the breakdown of your exam in terms of the subject areas. This info is found in the packet you filled out when you first registered for the exam. You may think wound care may be your weakest area but the breakdown could give you a clearer picture of what areas you seem to be weak in.
Of course, each exam you took was not the same and so the breakdown may not be the same. One exam may have been heavy with ortho and the other with ADL's or administration. Don't just ask for one assessment and assume that whatever you saw as the "only" areas you had problems with.
Before I took the exam, I took advantage of not only the O'Sullivan book but about 3 more review books. One was by Scott Giles, "Guide to Success". The other was by Theresa Meyer's, "Physical Therapy Examination Review". Last but not least was to take the FSBPT review exam itself, which could only be done online. This gave me an idea of how the exam actually looked like. However, it was just questions only. Each review had its strength and weakeness'. Yes, I went through all of them and it paid off in the end with the first try. Different perspectives and approaches can be seen with these reviews. Hope this info helps.
